The number of trekkers on the Annapurna Circuit has increased with the start of the tourist season.
The Annapurna trekking route, the second most popular in Nepal after the Khumbu region, is now welcoming over 150 tourists daily.
Bhupendra Gurung, chief of the Dharapani-based Tourist Information Centre at the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) in Manang district, confirmed that this figure has been consistent since the tourist season began.
Local hoteliers along the route have reported improved business activity, thanks to higher occupancy rates.
According to Gurung, 12,355 tourists have visited the route so far in 2024, compared to 10,897 during the same period last year. He noted that the largest number of visitors came from France, followed by Israel, Germany, and India.
